Road Safety Component of Southwest Road Network Development Project (SRNDP), RHD
The consultant responsibilities consist of but not necessarily limited to the following activities: Identify and further develop activities for continuation of identifying road accident-prone locations on the target roads; Design low-cost safety improvement works on target roads, develop concept designs for accident-preventive safety improvement works, advise RHD, particularly RSDC, on safety measures in road design; Supervise construction of civil works for low-cost, accident-preventive safety improvement works on target roads; Advise and train RHD and BRTA engineers and engineers of major national consultants and contractors working in the road sector in road safety issues, the traffic police in safety enforcement and education, and assist in awareness campaign efforts; Undertake before and after studies to assess the impact of the safety measures, regarding road improvement, enforcement, and training and education; Assist RHD in procurement of road safety equipment for use by RHD, BRTA and the Police.
