Supervision and Management Consultant for Construction of 4-Lane Rajapara-Payra Port Connecting Road, Payra Port, Bangladesh
The work consists of construction supervision of RCC Road, Bridge/Culvert and related structures in accordance with the highest standards of the engineering profession and the applicable standards of Payra Port Authority. The Consultant will render the services under the terms of reference (ToR) but not limited to the following:
- Review of road and structural design including road alignment
- Site Supervision and witness of Testing and Commissioning
- Project management
The detailed scopes of works are described below:
- Review sub-soil investigation report and other related data
- Review road and structural design including road alignment
- Construction supervision of RCC Road, Structures and other related Structures
- Project Management and Contract Administration
- Arrange monthly meeting
Testing and Commissioning
Nearly all of the main components of the facility will be subjected to an acceptance test to demonstrate their capability to meet warranty design criteria. For each component subject to test, the Consultant will review the contractor's test procedures for compliance with design criteria. The Consultant will require that the problem causing failure is addressed and that the equipment/work be re-tested.
The Consultant will assist Payra Port Authority in this phase of the project and coordinate with the contractor in addressing any issues with the facilities that affect operation adversely. At the end of this period, and when all acceptance tests have been completed to the Consultants satisfaction, the Consultant will advise Payra Port Authority that the construction is complete and the facility is ready to be declared fully operational.
The Consultant will also prepare and recommend a provisional taking over certificate whenever due for the works of the contractor and alert Payra Port Authority of work deficiencies, if any. The Consultant will also confirm the remedial measures taken by the contractor, and recommend a final taking over certificate after expiry of the warrantee period.
