
Construction Supervision Consultancy Services for Construction of Kewatkhali Bridge Project at Mymensingh funded by AIIB
The Project consists of Kewatkhali Bridge across river old Brahmaputra at Mymensingh associated with Approach Bridges/Overpass Bridges etc. The objective to minimize congestion and improve mobility and connectivity by addressing the cross-river bottleneck between Mymensingh and Shambhugonj on the Dhaka-Mymensingh-India corridor. Moreover, the new bridge will be part of the Dhaka-Mymensingh-India border corridor, which is strategically important for local and regional connectivity. Once completed, over 11 million people in Bangladesh’s northern region will benefit from increased mobility and integration of local and regional markets. The project has been identified primarily to enable seamless movement of traffic in the region and also the neighboring Country.
Design Review: The principal objectives of Design Review services in Phase-I is to carry out review and update the sufficiency of the engineering drawings, plans, technical specifications, design calculations, pertinent reports prepared at Detailed Engineering Design stage which was completed in the year of 2021. This exercise would cover:

Construction Supervision: The principal objective of Construction Supervision services is to carry out construction Supervision and Contract Management as per FIDIC MDB Harmonized Edition (2010) complemented with the specific provisions as included in the Standard Bidding Documents under AIIB guidelines for Procurement of Works.
Defect Liability Period: As per Contract this is a period when the completed Works are being continuously monitored for effective performance. The main tasks of the Engineer’s Representative will be to inspect the completion of all minor outstanding works following the issue of the taking over certificate(s) and that these are completed satisfactorily within the agreed time period at issue of the certificate(s). The Consultant will propose a schedule of periodic inspections of the Works during the defects liability period to ensure proper performance through the Team Leader & Team, and if any defects are observed, inform the Employer and advice on the appropriate actions. He would undertake final inspection of the Works, and after consulting with the Employer, and all other interested parties, and if satisfied, issue the Defects Liability Certificate at the end of the Defects Liability Period. The Consultant will issue Construction Completion Report and submit to RHD, after certifying Contractor’s ‘Statement at completion’.
