Sustainable Rural Infrastructure Improvement Project (SRIIP), LGED. Design and Supervision Consultancy (D&SC) Services - ADB Loan No.2696 BAN (SF)
The Project will be implemented by Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) in 21 Districts of Bangladesh at a cost of BDT. 7525.14 million for improvement of rural infrastructure. The Sustainable Rural Infrastructure Improvement Project will enhance the accessibility of the rural people to the markets and economic opportunities will culminate in improving the earnings, access to basic services like health and education of the rural poor. The project components include improvement of 92 markets, construction of 3270 meters of bridges and culverts, capacity building of LGED and local government institutions, developing a sustainable roads maintenance system, piloting of rural water supply and renewable energy in selected markets, road side tree plantation etc.
