Construction Supervision for Rehabilitation of Dhaka-Sylhet Road Project (RRMP-III), RHD, financed by World Bank
The consultant’s responsibilities consist of but not necessarily limited to the following activities.
Pre-award activities: (i) Consultants will carry out a detailed review of the tender documents, considering the effect and extent of 1998 flood, specially for the design of the Bridges & Culverts. (ii) The consultant will review & revise Pavement design, Bridge design, Environmental aspects, Resettlement and Socio-economic aspects, Relocation of services, Transfer of technology. (iii) The consultant will design the Katchpur Grade Separated Junction for uninterrupted flow of traffic either through over-bridge or under-bridge
Construction Supervision: Approve contractor’s programme, method, material source, etc. Check quality of materials, ensure quality of construction. Assist in establish testing labs, arrange to establish a clearly defined quality assurance system, prepare & issue reports, approve and/or issue working drawings, keep measurement records, certify work volume and interim certificates. Assess/evaluate performance of each contract indicates yearly requirements of finds. Certify completion of part or all of the works, inspect work during defects liability period. Monitor the process of resettlement of people affected assist in preparing Project Completion Report (PCR), provide advice and on-site training to RHD staff in contract administration. Check safety measures, check contractor accounts, invoice clauses and other statements.
Additional Services: The consultant will attend meeting with IDA Missions and render necessary assistance as and when required. Consultant has to recognizing that IDA will review the procurement documents, tender evaluation and progress reports etc
